Our History

Energy Control and Services (ECS) was founded in 1982 as a manufacturer’s representative for what was then Hauck Manufacturing Company. Based out of Tampa, Florida, ECS’s territory spanned from the Florida Keys all the way up to North Carolina and Tennessee. In 1987, ECS began representing other manufacturers in addition to Hauck. The company added new employees to support its growth efforts.

In 2002, the company’s headquarters relocated to Greenville, South Carolina after being purchased by longtime employee and current CEO, Kevin Muse. Two years later, ECS established a sister company, Thermal Solutions, with an emphasis on fabrication of custom equipment for the asphalt industry and fuel trains and skids for the industrial combustion market.

Growing to Meet Customers' Needs

In 2008, the two companies consolidated their efforts to focus on the industrial combustion business, which allowed them to reduce the amount of equipment fabrication being done, start a burner service group, and remain focused on providing local, timely service.

Since 2017, ECS has been a representative for the entire Honeywell Thermal Solutions group of companies and has doubled in size. This growth has mostly occurred within the company’s service and project management teams, which have continued to foster excellent service and ongoing support for customers.

Mission & Values

Our mission is to provide the highest quality customer service to manufacturing plants in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia that have industrial combustion equipment in their plants.

We strive to have a sense of urgency that matches our customer’s needs, offering them a timely solution to their problems, while adding value to their process.

We have the foresight to provide excellent support by meticulously training our technicians and application engineers, stocking necessary equipment, and building relationships with our suppliers.

We aim to be the industrial combustion experts our customers can trust and rely on!

Our business model is to provide a service to our customers that increases value and reliability to their process. It’s pretty simple: if what we provide is good for our customer’s business, then in the long run they will be profitable and continue to use us, and it will be good for our business. If the business is good for us but not a fair value to them, our customers and thus our business will not flourish.
